Civic Engagement in Victoria
Back to projects page
Our firm is helping Victoria to develop one of the province's first civic engagement strategies in order to find out how the City can better communicate and connect with its citizens. Through a co-creative process that draws on the team's diverse skills and knowledge, the Strategy aims to:
- Enrich its processes with more ideas from a broader range of voices, and ensure the questions being asked are the right ones
- Develop clear understanding of local issues, challenges and opportunities by getting the input of local people from a range of perspectives
- Deepen trust in the process and the governance body responsible, and reduce conflict
- Inform the technical work/solutions being developed in the engagement strategy and make them more relevant and clear to citizens and stakeholders
- Create support for implementation and action
- Reduce confusion and improve efficiency as processes and tools are matched to needs/channels
The project includes online forums, a Public Ideas Fair, key informant interviews, and extensive outreach with hard-to-reach groups, such as immigrants and youths, through interviews and focus groups, to ensure that all voices are represented in the process.
